E3 2008 - Final Fantasy 13

It's finally E3 time. And after being extremely sick for the past 5 days, I was totally excited for the press conferences.  Now, I've never even touched a Microsoft console in my memory, but being someone who's interested in gaming issues and news across the board, I decided to watch their press conference anyways. And now I have a shocking announcement...

I am no longer buying a PS3.   o.O;

Yes, lazy people who aren't clicking the link. Final Fantasy 13, my only reason thus far for wanting a PS3, is now coming to the Xbox360. My gaming plans have totally been switched around! I hardly know what to do with myself. o.O; Now, logically... if you could could get a system for a lower price... wouldn't you? ^_^ And there are other games I would love to get for the 360. This is mind boggling... but exciting. I'm going to try to get over to GameCrazy this week and have a chat with the workers about 360 stuff.

So, gaming friends... what do you guys think of this?

By the way, maybe go ahead and recommend me some 360 games? Nothing too violent, though... please. ~_~; I know there's lots of shooters for the 360, but I'm just not interested. I like RPGs... and pretty stuff.

(PS: Recommend at the link, please. I can keep better track of recs there! Thank you! ^_^ )

PS (Again): Actually... I'm probably going to have to take this back after tomorrow's Sony press conference, aren't I? But oh, well... I want all three of them eventually. It's just... how on earth am I going to get enough money? *Dies* Enjoying lots of media is so expensive... or illegal. ~_~;

I feel horribly out of date when it comes to the current gen... All I've been looking forward to is Fallout 3 -- and even that's a passive interest. *sweatdrop*

Though, out of what I've seen, I'm probably more inclined to the 360. But PS3 will have Silent Hill 5, and that's been a long-time fandom for me too..

If it were me, I'd wait a while longer for the game libraries to expand. Even though it's already been, like.. 4 years since this gen started. XD; WOW. Now I'm really out of the loop.

Well, I already have a Wii, so current gen has started for me since then... o.o; Although it still feels weird to call it that. This generation feels like it's been on the way forever. It still doesn't feel completely real. But anyways...

It's weird -- My father has a Wii and a few of my friends have other systems, but I'm still stuck in the 90's with my older games. I'm just now trying to get back into RPGs and things I missed when I was younger, but that's just perpetual nostalgia talking..

I mean, geez. We're at Final Fantasy XIII already? XD; I remember when VII came out, and I accidentally broke the disk a certain somebody died on..

Haha. And me, I totally missed the 90s in terms of gaming. I played some Mario... and that's about it. Didn't even have an N64 until... like 2003.

Ah, perpetual nostalgia. I totally have that... about everything. Honestly.

Haha. It was so hard for me to play FF7 because I played FF10 first. In comparision... the graphics are so horrible. Ah, I love FF7's plot and everything, but I really missed out not playing it until 8 years later. :( It's so hard to keep up with things now. I'm sure there's lots of older great games I haven't even played. *Sighs*

OH MY GOD. This is great news! I wonder if Versus is gonna be on 360 too. FF13 was the main reason I wanted a PS3 too, and I already have a 360. :D So for now, I'm totally putting my PS3 plans in hold indefinitely.

As for 360 games, the main ones I recommend are Enchanted Arms (GREAT old-school style RPG with gorgeous modern graphics) and Ninety-Nine Nights (an action-y game that is beautiful and lots of fun). I recently picked up Eternal Sonata, but I haven't played it yet. Everyone says it's wonderful though. :D

That's a good question, actually. I wonder about Versus. Hm. But yeah, I've basically switched my plans so that the PS3 is on hold instead of the 360. HeH. Glad to see someone else happy about this news. ^_^

Ooh, thank you! My first 360 recs; I'm so excited! HeH! I'll check them all out. ^_^

I'm sure I'll still get a PS3 eventually, but right now... soo much money for girl with no job. Haha. There weren't a ton of games I wanted to get for 360, which is why it wasn't a priority. But there's still enough to make it worth it. ^_^

Ah, KH3... if they are willing to move Final Fantasy... But then, I don't really know. Kingdom Hearts is even more important to me than Final Fantasy, so... yeah, if it goes with PS3, then so will I. But there hasn't even been an official KH3 announcement to my knowledge... just those side games. So, I don't know. That might be a ways off.

That's really cool, my friend has a 360 and we hang out all the time so I might get to play it as his place. I kinda stopped following Final Fantasy after 10 though, and to be honest I'm not all that excited for the next one.

I don't even have any current-gen consoles...all I play is old N64/Playstation games now, really. I'd buy a Wii because it has some games I'm interested in, but I don't have the money. Everything in gaming is way too expensive nowadays!

Ah, there's nothing wrong with still playing old consoles. I would... if mine hadn't died. ~_~; But yeah. The Wii is the cheapest current-gen console, but it's still expensive when you add in the games and everything you might want. *Sighs* And as I said in the post, if you're interested in many different kinds of media, it's just so impossible to keep up because of money, time, and for me, also space. *Sighs again*

It's not even that, but it's the fact that it's (still!) so hard to find a Wii that you have to buy them online, where they cost around $400 sometimes. Doesn't seem worth it considering the only games that I'd really want ATM are Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Galaxy and some of the virtual console games. (I really want to play Paper Mario again!)

Is it really still hard? I'm sorry. :( I hadn't realized. My Dad stood in line to get me one last year. I guess I'm still pretty lucky, then.

I still don't have a lot of games for it, yet. I've spend more time on some of the older Mario games from virtual console, actually. As I've never beaten any of them. *Blushes* I have beaten the Mario RPGs, though. Super Mario RPG is one of my favorite games, and I can't wait until it comes out for virtual console! I love Paper Mario, as well. Been awhile since I've played it, and I'm close to the end of the 2nd one. Maybe I'll go back and play the first again before I buy Super Paper Mario for the Wii.

I have Galaxy, but I haven't started it yet. I go through media shifts... and right now I'm not playing a lot of games. I think the excitement of E3 will get me playing again soon, though.
