Artistic Styles

If you could have the writing ability of one author, who would you choose, and why? Would you exchange writing styles permanently?

I actually have never read as much as other people thought or expected. Being a writer, I can see why people would think I read more. I'm not sure why I don't, but I find inspiration in all sorts of mediums. So, would I trade abilities with another author? No. I admire Jo Rowling very, very much. And I'm thankful for what her creativity has done for my life. But I can write already, in my own style. What I'd wish for instead, is something that I don't have, to gain the artistic ability of Ai Yazawa, so I could draw out my lovely characters exactly as I see them. I still wouldn't trade it for what I have now, but I wish so much that I could draw the things I see so vividly in my mind.

I wouldn't mind having someone else's writing ability for like one day, just to experiment and see how things would turn out. But I would never want to trade permanently.

I've commissioned a lot of artists to draw my characters, and there's always a certain thrill when one of them gets the character just right, as in, the character looks exactly as I imagined them. It doesn't happen often, but it's a real treat when it does. My icon is a picture of my character Sebastian that someone drew for me, and it is soooo perfect. Still, even when the artists don't get it just right, it's interesting to see how they interpret my descriptions. :D

My friend, Mallory, who's working on a story with me, is a wonderful artist. She's done my/our characters, and they've come out beautifully. But she's a lot busier now.

I've always had a secret hope that when I find my soulmate, he'll be an artist. Then, creatively, we'd be a perfect pair. ^_^ Of course, that's only a little wish and not at all important compared to other things... though, I don't think I could have a soulmate who wasn't creative in some way.
